Dani Pedrosa: Important to test 2015 Honda prototype early

Dani Pedrosa has spoken of the importance of evaluating the new 2015 Honda RC213V Factory prototype early, with the Spaniard expected to test next year’s bike for the first time today (Wednesday) in Brno.

Pedrosa and Repsol Honda teammate Marc Marquez have one 2015-spec RC213V each to assess at the Czech Republic track.

The bike was spotted briefly behind closed doors at the Brno circuit sporting all black carbon livery.

Pedrosa said it was important to get an early opportunity to test the 2015 bike early to give HRC technical staff as much time as possible to modify the bike ahead of next year’s testing schedule beginning in earnest in Valencia in November.

Pedrosa, who recently re-signed to stay with HRC until the end of 2016, told MCN: “It is an advanced test so Honda has more time to modify the bike. When the bike is new you need much more time to plan things, so it is always good to have the bike early in the year so when we start testing in the winter the bike is more ready than having to stop for some stupid little things.”

The current version of the RC213V on which Marquez has dominated the 2014 campaign on with nine straight victories, was first spotted in public last June when Honda rolled it out at a test at the Motorland Aragon track in Spain.
