Marquez tops one-day Brno test

Marc Marquez has topped a one-day official MotoGP test at Brno, only 24hrs after failing to win the Czech Grand prix at the same track, taking the top spot from Jorge Lorenzo as the factory Honda and Yamaha riders tested their new 2015 machines.

Lorenzo was the early leader, and mid-afternoon rain meant it looked like he would finish on top, but a late afternoon lap from the reigning world champion left him 0.155 clear at the flag.

Dani Pedrosa, yesterday’s winner, was third, confirming to MCN that Honda had moved forwards his 2015 machine from the one he tested at Brno last month, with further enhancements expected before the next test at Valencia.

The factory Ducatis sat out the test, with Cal Crutchlow and Andrea Dovizioso testing in private next month at Misano.
