Brno MotoGP: Marquez takes pole

Reigning champion Marc Marquez set a best time of 1’55.585 to secure pole position at the Brno circuit.

Marquez will be joined on the front row by the Ducati duo of Andrea Dovizioso in second and Andrea Iannone in third on the satelitte Ducati.

Fresh from re-signing with Tech 3 Yamaha, Bradley Smith put in a late fast lap to head the second row in fourth. Factory riders Dani Pedrosa and Jorge Lorenzo complete the second row.

Valentino Rossi set the seventh fastest time despite a crash in Free Practice 4 which injured his little finger on his left hand.

Brit Cal Crutchlow will start from 11th on the grid, although he’s only half a second slower than Marquez. Scott Redding will start from 15th on the grid, just behind team-mate Alvaro Bautista in 14th.
