Yakhnich confirm Lowes Moto2 move

Sam Lowes will make the move to Moto2 next season for an as-yet unnamed team, according to a statement released by his team hours after the Lincolnshire rider lifted the World Supersport title.

In the statement released by Yakhnich Motorsport, they have confirmed that Lowes will make the move to the MotoGP support class, although the Russian based team will remain with him for ‘marketing and PR activities.’

The 23 year old travelled to the German MotoGP round for talks with a number of teams, but an expected move to Tech3 appears to be off, after the team confirmed a two-rider line-up for 2014.

However, there remains a number of top seats open in the class, and Lowes is now being linked to the NGM Forward Racing team that run a four rider team in the class alongside their CRT MotoGP effort.
