Silverstone MotoGP: Smith dominates Q1 to move forward

Bradley Smith dominated the Qualifying 1 field to move himself forwards to Q2, finishing the session a second clear of second placed Colin Edwards, who will also go through to Q2.

Smith, who was running seventh in the free practice session this morning, looks sureto improve his current 11th placed on the grid.

Randy de Puniet was second for most of the session, before a late lap from Edwards demoted him back to 3rd, for 13th on the grid.

Yonny Hernandez was 17th on the grid, recovering from two crashes this morning, while his PBM teammate Michael Laverty will start from 19th.
