Moto2 Brno: Kallio wins, Redding maintains championship lead

1 of 1

Mika Kallio took the chequered flag for Marc VDS racing and his first ever Moto2 victory after a tough and uncompromising race in Brno. It was a result that was doubly-celebrated in the Marc VDS garage, particularly in Scott Redding’s camp as – for the second time in as many races – Pol Espargaro failed to capitalise on his championship rival’s mistakes and after qualifying second and on the front row he could only manage a relatively lacklustre fourth place.

Kallio’s teammate – and championship leader – Scott Redding however, will be pleased that he salvaged some welcome points after a disastrous qualifying by finishing eighth, after having started back down the grid in thirteenth.

Redding now goes into his home GP at Silverstone next week with a twenty-one point championship lead and with seven races remaining.
