Brno MotoGP: Bradl takes provisional pole with late lap

A late lap from Stefan Bradl in the second of today’s two free practice sessions at Brno was enough to make the German the fastest rider of the day at the Czech circuit, taking the top spot from Jorge Lorenzo by only 0.038.

The world champion was the fastest rider in both sessions until the late lap by Bradl, coming fresh from the official Yamaha team’s test at the track a few weeks ago. Dani Pedrosa was the final person on the provisional front row of the grid.

Valentino Rossi was fourth, finding half a second between sessions to leapfrog championship leader Marc Marquez and put him back into fifth.

Cal Crutchlow was the best of the Brits in sixth, one place and half a second ahead of Tech3 teammate Bradley Smith.

Aleix Espargaro was once again the best of the CRT machines in twelth, while Michael Laverty on the PBM Aprilia bike was in 21st.
