Aragon MotoGP: Spies ends wet first day on top

Ben Spies topped the timesheets during a wet free practice two at Aragaon today, after the first session was run in part-wet conditions.

Spies set a fastest time of 2’00.219 to knock Factory Honda rider Dani Pedros down to second place. Spies’ team-mate, Jorge Lorenzo, set the third fastest time. Although he was over half a second off the time set by the Texan.

Factory Ducati rider Nicky Hayden, who is still recovering from an injured hand, ended the day fourth fastest, with team-mate Valentino Rossi in eighth.

Brit Cal Crutchlow set the seventh fastest time after his fastest time of the day was cancelled due to the Tech 3 rider cutting the track.

Jonathan Rea, replacing the injured Casey Stoner, set the 11th fastest time.
