Qatar MotoGP: Luthi dominates to take pole

Suter rider Thomas Luthi has taken pole position with a fastest time of 2:0.187, which he set at the beginning of the session on only his third lap. Luthi has topped every session of the weekend so far.

2010 125GP champion Marc Marquez starts from second on the grid, despite only being declared fit to race three weeks prior to the first round. Speed Master rider Andrea Iannone completes the front row in third.

Tech 3 rider Bradley Smith heads the Brits, starting from the fourth row in 12th place. Scott Redding heads the fifth row in 13th. Moto2 rookie Gino Rea will start his first ever Moto2 race from 27th on the grid.
