Motegi 125GP: Zarco takes first GP win

Avant-AirAsia-Ajo rider Johann Zarco finally secured his first GP victory with a convincing performance at the Japanese circuit.

Zarco started from pole but Terol took the lead,with team mate Hector Faubel joining the battle. The trio created a five second gap over the following pack before Faubel dropped off the pace.

Zarco stole the lead on lap fourteen leading Terol to try to reclaim first and braking too late, resulting in Zarco crossing the line with a comfortable five second advantage. Faubel took third thirteen seconds behind Zarco.

Maverick Viñales (Blusens by Paris Hilton Racing), who started the race from the back of the grid after failing to complete the sighting lap having suffered a broken chain, made a remarkable recovery to take fourth.

Sandro Cortese (Intact Racing Team Germany) finished in fifth, with Jonas Folger (Red Bull Ajo Motorsport) and Alberto Moncayo (Team Andalucía Banca Cívica) taking sixth and seventh.

Danny Kent (Red Bull Ajo Motorsport) secured ninth, finishing two seconds ahead of Alessandro Tonucci (Team Italia FMI) in tenth.
