Dani Pedrosa to make last minute chassis choice

Dani Pedrosa will leave it to the last minute to decide which factory Honda chassis he will begin his quest to win a first MotoGP world title on later this month.

Despite only two days of pre-season testing remaining before the first race in Qatar on March 20, Pedrosa is torn between racing last year’s factory RC212V chassis and the updated 2011 version.

Pedrosa set his impressive best lap of 1.59.803 in the second Sepang test last week on the 2011 bike, but the minimal differences between the two bikes has left the Spaniard in a state of confusion.

“Both the chassis give a good feeling and it is hard to have a clear choice. It is a very important decision but I still have no preference, “Pedrosa told MCN.

The triple world champion will conduct further analysis during the forthcoming Qatar night test but he denied he planned to alternate between the different chassis during the season, depending on the characteristic of the circuit.

“No way, this is not a good idea and you can easily get lost, “said Pedrosa, who has been given permission by HRC to run one 2010 and one ’11 chassis if he wished.
