British MotoGP: Stoner consistent in FP2

Repsol Honda rider Casey Stoner was consistently fastest throughout the damp second practice session at Silverstone this afternoon. Stoner led the session until Marco Simoncelli (San Carlo Honda Gresini) topped the timesheet with one minute remaining, but Stoner was able to reclaim his position as fastest rider in the finall moments of FP2.

Nicky Hayden (Ducati Team) was third fastest in the session, closely followed by Brit Cal Crutchlow (Monster Yamaha Tech 3) who was fourth quickest around the Northamptonshire circuit.

Crutchlow’s team mate Colin Edwards retired early, putting in twelve laps and finishing in sixteenth.
