Leon Haslam could give his impressions and feedback on the new Suter/BMW 1000cc MotoGP bike in Mugello today.

The British rider is at the Mugello circuit preparing for a BMW World Superbike test before he flies off to the Czech Republic for this weekend’s Brno round. And he confirmed to MCN that he might complete a few laps on the 1000cc MotoGP machine either later today or tomorrow.

The 1000cc bike, which could be raced by Scott Redding’s Marc VDS Racing squad in 2012, is currently being ridden by Moto2 rider Mika Kallio.

It features a WSB-spec BMW engine housed in a Swiss-built Suter chassis and the Finnish rider has set a best time of 1.55.183. That is almost seven seconds slower than Repsol Honda rider Andrea Dovizioso, who headed the timesheets at the lunch break.
