This is the first look at the new livery British rider Scott Redding will use in his bid to become Moto2 world champion in 2011.

Unveiled at a launch in Belgium by the Marc VDS Racing squad, Redding showed off a new paintscheme on his Suter MMX machine with Finnish team-mate Mika Kallio.

The launch followed Redding continuing his excellent pre-season form when he produced a record-breaking performance at the Jerez circuit in Spain.

The 18-year-old smashed the outright lap record set during qualifying for the 2010 Moto2 race by late Japanese rider Shoya Tomizawa by more than half-a-second.

He ended the two-day test, added to the Marc VDS Racing pre-season schedule after the recent Estoril test was washed out by torrential rain, with a best lap of 1.43.70.

Redding, who will race with his trademark number 45 again this season, said: “Overall it’s been another good test and I leave here happy with the progress we’ve made with the bike. “We racked up quite a few laps and the times were good.

“We did a good race simulation in the morning, before switching our attention to the rear suspension. We tried a couple of different settings in the rear, to improve traction once the rear grip starts to drop off, which was a problem sometimes last season.

“We have made some progress in a few areas and I’m looking forward to returning to Jerez for the final test next week.”

Redding begins his Moto2 title challenge in Qatar on March 20.
