Brno Moto2: Marquez steals pole from Bradl

Marc Marquez (Team CatalunyaCaixa Repsol) stole his fourth pole position start of the season from Stefan Bradl (Viessmann Kiefer Racing) in the final lap of qualifying at Brno. Alex De Angelis (JIR Moto2) completes the front row, having qualified in third place.

Marquez moved up from sixth to first in the last few minutes of the session, Bradl responded by upping the pace to go fastest with 2 minutes remaining, before Marquez stole pole position by just two tenths of a second in the final lap.

Interwetten Paddock Moto rider Thomas Luthi qualified at the front of the second row in fourth ahead of Andrea Iannone (Speed Master) and Aleix Espargaro (Pons HP 40) who will start from fifth and sixth positions.

Ioda Racing Project team mates Simone Corsi and Mattia Pasini qualified in seventh and eighth respectively, whilst Claudio Corti (Italtrans Racing Team) was ninth fastest at the Czech circuit. Despite crashing out of qualifiying at turn nine, Randy Krummenacher (GP Team Switzerland Kiefer Racing) completes the top ten.

British Moto2 riders Bradley Smith (Tech 3 Racing) and Scott Redding (Marc VDS Racing Team) had a disappointing qualifiying session and will start tomorrow’s race from sixteenth and twentieth on the grid.
