Estoril MotoGP: Terol takes 125GP pole

Spaniard Nicolas Terol (Bankia Aspar Team) will start from pole position for tomorrow’s 125GP race at Estoril after beating Sandro Cortese who qualified second and Portugese rider Miguel Oliveira who re-claimed third position in the last lap of qualifying.

Terol’s team mate Hector Faubel qualified fourth ahead of Alberto Moncayo (Anadlucia Banca Civica) and Johann Zarco (Avant-AirAsia-Ajo).

Harry Stafford (Ongetta-Centro Seta) was the fastest British rider, qualifying in seventeeth, just ahead of fellow Brit Danny Webb (Mahindra Racing) who will start in eighteenth. Taylor McKenzie crashed out early in qualifying with a highside at turn 1, but will start in twenty-sixth. Danny Kent later also crashed at turn 1, but qualified to start in twenty-third place.

All of the 125GP crashes happened at turn 1, with Sebestyen, Ono and Gadea also coming off at the corner.
