Silverstone has launched its ‘Back The Brits’ campaign as the 2011 British Grand Prix edges ever closer.

Silverstone Managing Director Richard Phillips flew out to the Spanish MotoGP race last weekend to lend his support to the eight British riders competing, while also unveiling the ‘Back The Brits’ campaign.

The eight British riders – Cal Crutchlow, Bradley Smith, Scott Redding, Kev Coghlan, Danny Kent, Danny Webb, Taylor MacKenzie and Harry Stafford all supported the ‘Back The Brits’ campaign when they came together for a photocall in Jerez, helping to promote the British Grand Prix at Silverstone on 10-12 June.

Phillips said, “It’s fantastic that we’ve got eight British riders to get behind. While Bradley Scott and Danny Webb all raced at Silverstone last year, the British Grand Prix will be a new experience for the other riders.

“That said, Cal won both World Superbike races on the GP circuit last year, so he will be more confident going into his home race than any other round. One thing’s for sure – there will a fantastic atmosphere at Silverstone and they can expect a rapturous reception from their home crowd.”
