Danny Webb sets sights on home top ten

Danny Webb has targeted a top ten finish in his home race at Silverstone this weekend.

The Kent rider, who has been in the top ten at the last two races in Le Mans and Mugello, is just outside the top ten in the overall 125GP standings after four rounds.

And heading to his crunch home clash at the new look Northamptonshire circuit, Webb said: “I’m getting more and more confident and I’m staying on the bike. The plan is to keep doing what we are doing and finish in the top ten in the championship but not push too hard and throw the bike down the road. I’m looking for a top ten finish on Sunday but if everything went perfectly that could be a podium if I push really hard.”

Webb is also hoping Silverstone will spark a change in home fortunes.

He’s been knocked off on the first lap of the last two British GP clashes at Donington Park but is looking forward to the challenge of competing at Silverstone.

He added: “I’ve not been round the new track but my brother rode round it last week and I’ve also spoken to Leon Haslam and both told me it was awesome and very quick. It’s going to be very special going back to Silverstone with all its history and I’m really looking forward to it.”
