Suzuki delay Chris Vermeulen’s Kawasaki WSB debut

Suzuki will not give special permission for Aussie rider Chris Vermeulen to make his Kawasaki World Superbike debut before the end of the MotoGP season.

Kawasaki will test immediately after the final WSB round in Portimao on October 25 and had requested that Vermeulen make his debut on the ZX-10R.

Vermeulen would be available for the test with it falling in between the Malaysian round and the season-ending clash in Valencia on November 8.

But Suzuki boss Paul Denning confirmed to MCN that the request had been turned down, explaining: “There was a request from Chris’s management because they had been asked by Kawasaki management to ask us, but they got exactly the answer they expected.

“It wasn’t because we wanted to be unhelpful but it is the Wednesday before the final Grand Prix and Chris and Suzuki want to finish off with the best results as we possibly can.”
