Valencia MotoGP: Danny Webb suffers more injury misery

1 of 1

British rider Danny Webb suffered more injury misery after a spectacular high-side crash in the early stages of this afternoon’s 125GP qualifying session in Valencia.

The 18-year-old was just about to complete his fourth lap when he lost control of his Degraaf Aprilia exiting the final corner.

The Kent rider landed heavily and needed to be carried away on a stretcher before undergoing lengthy treatment in the circuit medical centre. Webb was diagnosed with a broken bone in his right foot and now has four broken bones in both feet.

When Webb crashed out on the first lap of the Malaysian GP in Sepang last month, he thought he had only broken one bone in his left foot.

But further checks in the build-up to the Valencia clash showed his left foot was broken in three places.

Despite the broken bones in both feet, Webb plans to try and ride in tomorrow morning’s warm-up session before deciding whether he can ride through the pain barrier in the 24-lap race.
