Danny Webb finding speed in Jerez

Danny Webb believes he is finally getting to grips with the new 2009 factory Aprilia 125GP bike after a positive second day of testing in Jerez.

The British rider has struggled in his short time on the new bike because of handling issues, but he ended up seventh quickest today with a best time of 1.48.665.

That was 1.6s faster than his best on a first day and told MCN: “I felt much better today but I’m still not completely satisfied.

“We sorted out the engines issues we had yesterday and the bike was a lot less aggressive when I first opened the throttle.

“Without that I could concentrate on making the chassis better. I felt a bit more confident but I still need more time to adapt. I’m struggling mid-corner and in the faster corners it doesn’t feel comfortable.”

Today’s session was again topped by Spaniard Julian Simon.
