Catalunya MotoGP: Alvaro Bautista wins, Simoncelli crashes out

Aspar Aprilia rider Alvaro Bautista has extended his championship lead with a comfortable win at the 250GP in Catalunya after reigning champion Marco Simoncelli crashed out just three laps in to the race.

Honda rider Hiroshi Aoyama battled until the very last corner with Aprilia rider Hector Barbera to take second place and keep in reach of Bautista in the championship.

Prior to the race Simoncelli was third in the championship standings, but after crashing and failing to restart, he lies in fifth.
