Bradley Smith, Danny Webb and Scott Redding were all outside of the top ten in this morning’s final 125GP practice session at Donington Park.

Oxfordshire rider Smith’s best lap of 1.39.188 was only good enough to secure 12th position as he was close to a second off the pace of in-form Aspar Aprilia team-mate Julian Simon.

Degraaf Aprilia rider Danny Webb was a further three places adrift in 15th, the 18-year-old clocking a best lap of 1.39.506.

Just 0.199s behind Webb was 2008 British 125GP winner Scott Redding in 16th place. Redding, who became the youngest rider in history to win a Grand Prix when he triumphed at Donington Park 13 months ago, set a best time of 1.39.705.

Simon topped the timesheets in dry but cool conditions at the Leicestershire circuit today, but at least there was no repeat of the monsoon rain that his yesterday afternoon’s opening practice.

Spaniard Simon dominated the session with a best lap of 1.38.277, which put him 0.103s clear of Joan Olive. Spanish riders dominated the session, with Nicolas Terol and Sergio Gadea in third and fourth places respectively.
