German MotoGP: Danny Webb fully fit and focused

British teenager Danny Webb has told MCN he is back to full fitness and raring to go for this weekend’s German 125GP after he suffered a recent injury scare.

The 18-year-old feared doctors would amputate the litter finger on his right hand just a day after he was knocked out on the first lap of the Dutch 125GP in Assen last month.

The Degraaf Aprilia rider, who first badly damaged his little finger in a crash during practice for the Catalunya GP, was left in severe pain on his return to the UK after the Dutch GP.

“It was quite bad so I went to the hospital and it was obviously a bad infection in the finger, “said Webb speaking on a Ryanair flight to the Sachsenring yesterday (Wednesday).

“They were worried at one point that the bone itself was infected and at one stage it looked like they might need to amputate. I was kept in overnight on Sunday after Assen while they pumped me full of antibiotics and thankfully I’m okay. The break after Assen gave me the chance to get back to full fitness.

“The finger doesn’t look great but it’s not going to give me any problem on the bike and I’m looking forward to a good weekend.” Webb is desperate to end a barren run of form at the Sachsenring with the Kent rider failing to finish each of the last four races.
