Ben Spies looking forward to Colin Edwards partnership

Ben Spies reckons Yamaha team-mate Colin Edwards will be an invaluable ally in helping the reigning World Superbike champion be an instant success in MotoGP next season.

Spies and Edwards will form an all-Texas line-up in Herve Poncharal’s Monster Tech 3 squad in 2010.

And Edwards has already offered to give the 25-year-old plenty of advice as Spies looks to master the YZR-M1.

Spies, who had a record-breaking rookie campaign in WSB, told MCN: “Colin is a great guy and he’s somebody I’ve looked up to through all my career. I still do and it will be good working with him and learning from him. He’s got a lot of experience and is willing to help, so that is a big bonus for me.”
