Today’s lid is this mahogany-look lid worn by Valentino in his debut season with Yamaha in MotoGP in 2004.

Rossi had won the opening race of the year in 2004 at Welkom, South Africa, but followed that with a string of fourth places finishes.

As a result, Rossi turned up at the next round with this one-off paint scheme to celebrate him repeatedly winning the wooden spoon.
