Praise for Donington

I’d like to give some credit to donington. they couldnt help the weather on saturday but other than that i had a cracking weekend. as i was on crutches following knee surgery i wasnt overly looking forward to it.

The food area on the infield was a improvement and good to see the large picnic tables to sit and eat at. yes the food was expensive but its expected so no point complaining about it, the wagons pay a fortune for rent as donington and other circuits have to pay dorna a small fortune to host a round of motogp.

The thing i was impressed with was the way the traffic wasnt held up leaving on sunday. i hobbled from redgate back to the car, arrived about 40mins after stoner had crossed the line so expected to be stuck in the traffic for a hour or so. luckily the traffic was being managed better than the previous 10 years and we were heaing southbound on the a42 within 15mins of starting the car,it was so smooth we were home in cornwall by 9pm. its never easy getting 90,000 people out of 1 giant field but i felt quite happy with things this year and think they deserve a bit of praise amongst all the critiscm the place will get.

On a positive note, what a great result for scott redding, just a shame about toselands club racer error, but it was only expected with all the pressure put on him.
