My Donington experience

Despite having my tickets on the dash or swinging round my neck and wrist for 3 days my Donington experience was as follows: can I park nearer to the Esses? Where’s your pass. Where can I get some food? Where’s your pass. Do you know where the toilets are? Where’s your pass. Where can I get a programme? Where’s your pass. How do I get to Starkeys from here? Where’s your pass…

What a comparison to the welcome and overall ambience you get at the TT. I felt treated like an unwanted prisoner, not a guest invited to enjoy the experience. I was afraid to walk past, let alone talk to anyone in a yellow coat. I don’t know about other visitors but I felt I was walking on eggshells no matter where I went. Really uncomfortable.

Before Donington starts fobbing us off by blaming some third party security company, they are your employees and their attitude reflects on you. They need to chill a bit and try helping people, focusing on making their day instead of being so stuck up and officious all the time.

Proof is in the pudding I suppose, as when these meat heads were needed to control the suicidal track invasion and post event chaos these ‘holier than thou’ ticket checkers were nowhere to be seen. Thanks guys you really made a difference. It made me laugh hearing the circuit commentators saying the attendance was boosted by Donington’s ‘improved organisation’. Dream on.

You’ll hear plenty about the £25 concentration camp and car parks I’m sure… What a joke. People are only there to listen to the fabulous MotoGP machines. Simple as. If only the off track customer service was equally World Class.
