Donington Park MotoGP: Casey Stoner’s consistency continues in Warm Up

1 of 1

For the fourth session out of five so far this weekend, reigning MotoGP World Champion Casey Stoner heads the rest of the 800cc field by a margin over half a second.

Stoner’s only been off the time of the time sheets once this weekend in the third free practice session in the wet that was topped by Andrea Dovizioso.

Stoner posted a best time of 1.29.525 at the chequered flag for the 25-minute long Warm-Up.

That time put him a full 0.520 seconds ahead of closest rival Valentino Rossi, who was the same margin back in the wet yesterday in the qualifying session.

The real mover of the session was Dani Pedrosa – he leapt up from a disappointing ninth fastest yesterday in qualifying to a more respectable third in Warm Up.

The next two spots were taken by 250cc graduates Dovizioso and Alex De Angelis, with Colin Edwards rounding off the top six for Yamaha.

James Toseland looked more at home in dry conditions this morning, lapping with a best of 1.30.620, which was good enough for 12th fastest.

And American Ben Spies went 15th fastest ahead of his first ever MotoGP race, and his first ever race around Donington Park.
