Ducati target Mika Kallio for MotoGP ride

Ducati has confirmed making an approach to current 250GP world championship leader Mika Kallio for 2009.

Factory team boss Livio Suppo confirmed the Finn is on a list of potential targets and he held more talks with the KTM rider in Assen last month.

Suppo denied that Kallio was in line to partner reigning world champion Casey Stoner in its factory team, but he was definitely a leading candidate for the satellite team currently backed by Alice and run by Luis D’Antin.

“I have always liked him. He seems very interested and he believes in himself, “said Suppo on the approach for Kallio.
