Donington Park VIP facilities

We went to the MotoGP 3 persons at £495 pound each in the VIP suite…. only to be failed by the promises of the web site. Even in the VIP suite, there’s not enough toilets for the users and it was very basic, no urinals for men even. Food was cooked on a couple of domestic barbeques… so long wait there then. Crappy fatty burgers were served, not beef and no alternative ready for anybody who wants anything else. Champagne was promised, but NO it was Prosecco.. about 1/10 of the price!

The circuit management had better buy in some experience because the small crowd at MotoGP when compared to the Entourage & crowds attending F1 will swamp everything. Well its not as though Donington hasn’t had enough time to get it anywhere near right, they have had years.

The recent BSB meet was OK because not a lot of people turned up, but the toilets in the centre of the circuit, many where out of order. If some large & small music concerts can organise a field from nothing to cope with a planned attendance of people, you would think that a dedicated facility should be able to manage such things. Oh and we have all heard about the magic plans before, it just seems to leave out the paying fans.

The facilities at Silverstone are descibed as threadbare when compared to other modern F1 venues, but speaking as a long time visitor to Silverstone F750 races, GPs & F1 meetings, when the F1 comes to Donington, the public will be gone in a jiff. Perhaps I am off to Valencia instead!
