Donington new track layout

Photograhed at Donington at a board meeting via a mobile telephone. The future of the British Grand Prix has been secured in a new 10 year agreement between Donington Ventures Leisure Limited and Formula One Management Limited.

Revealed is the new Donington track circuit awaiting planning permission. This plan was given to me via the back door and is yet to be seen anywhere on the world wide web.

Personally I am thrilled that F1 is coming to Donington as well as it being superb for MotoGP. The current 2.5-mile circuit, which last hosted a Formula One race in 1993, will be extended by approximately half a mile thanks to the addition of a new loop at the final corner. “We are naturally delighted and extremely proud to have acquired the rights to bring Formula One back to Donington Park from 2010”, Donington Park’s owners Simon Gillett and Lee Gill said in a joint statement.
