Smith takes third as Gadea wins 125GP

Britain’s Bradley Smith claimed his first podium, by taking third in the 125cc French GP.

Smith finished behind winner Sergio Gadea, who took his first ever GP win for the Bacaja Asapr team, whilst second place went to championship leader Lukas Pesek.
Behind Smith, Gabor Talmcacsi finished fourth from Joan Olive in fifth and Pablo Nieto in sixth.

Early race leader Mattia Pasini’s run of bad luck continued as he was forced to retire with engine failure on lap 20. Other retirements included Lorenzo Zanetti, Steve Bonsey and Andrea Ianone, who all crashed out of the race.
