Eyewitness report of Locatelli crash

The wife and I were at Jerez and she saw the Roberto Locatelli crash.

I saw the crash from the impact onwards. There is a bit of mystery surrounding what happened.

This is my wife’s description: “Roberto came down the short straight towards us (we were in the grandstand) and turned very sharply left well before the end of the straight. He turned so sharply that he was almost at ninety degrees to the tyre wall when he crashed into it. He was in a normal sort of racing position on the bike when he veered left.”

The bike bounced off the tyre wall and came to rest in the middle of the track; Roberto came to rest on the grass.
