Dutch MotoGP: Mattia Pasini takes provisional pole for 125s in Assen

Mattia Pasini has taken provisional pole for the 125 category at the Dutch MotoGP in Assen.

The Italian recorded a best lap of 1:45.603 on his Aprilia with less than five minutes remaining of the session. He had put in a best time just minutes before but then knocked almost half a second off to top the timesheets once again.

Lukas Pesek was praying time would be on his side after posting his fastest lap with nine minutes to go. The Czech rider’s best time was a 1:45.783. 

The man leading the session going in to the final 10 minutes was Simone Corsi, who finished up in third place. His best lap on his Aprilia was a 1:46.198.

Britain’s lone rider, after Bradley Smith’s injuries sustained in this morning’s free practice, Danny Webb recorded a 1:49.322. The Honda rider, although visibly slower than the top guys, knocked almost three seconds off his best time of this morning.
