British MotoGP: Colin Edwards looking for return to form at Donington Park after 'joke' run

American Colin Edwards is hoping this weekend’s British MotoGP at Donington Park will spark a much-needed revival in fortunes for the Fiat Yamaha rider.

The Texan has endured a torrid recent run of results and has slipped down the standings to 10th place, but he remains confident he can turnaround his poor form at Donington Park on Sunday.

Two of his seven premier class podiums have come at the Leicestershire circuit and Colin Edwards told MCN: “Yeah, I’m looking to get back on track this weekend. It’s been an absolute joke the last few weeks.

“It’s hard enough being away from home, all my mechanics being away from home and their families, but to come and finish how I’ve been finishing it’s just been an absolute joke.

“It’s not through a lack of riding my ass off. You ride your ass off more when it doesn’t f****ng work. The races you finish good in are the easiest ones. But I need a result.

“Catalunya was just a disaster. I couldn’t get any load on the rear to load the front.

And Edwards added: “You go in and the rear was coming around so you couldn’t put any force on the front. I couldn’t get any push from either and the front was a joke. It was an absolute joke that race.”
