Valentino Rossi and Loris Capirossi will record a special video message which will be played on big screens to fans at the Misano MotoGP race in September, 2007.

The Italian duo will make the video to try and avoid a repeat of the track invasion that marred the recent Mugello GP in their home country.

Hundreds of fans poured onto the Mugello circuit before the end of the race, which was won by home favourite Valentino Rossi.

The Mugello track invasion was discussed at the regular Safety Commission meeting in Barcelona last weekend, where it was agreed Rossi and Capirossi would make a special video plea for fans not to invade the track before the end of the race.

Capirossi told MCN: “We will do this for Misano. It was really dangerous in Mugello and we talked about this in the Safety Commission. For sure we can record something for Misano.

“They will play a message on the big screens. We want to say ‘please wait and after the race we can let you come onto the track.’ But before it’s not good.”

Capirossi confirmed French MotoGP rider Olivier Jacque had attended the Safety Commission meeting in Catalunya to express his concern over events at the MotoGP in Mugello.

Although the only full-time members of the Safety Commission are Rossi, Capirossi and American Kenny Roberts Junior, any rider is free to attend.

Capirossi added: “OJ came to the Safety Commission and he said he was 15th and he was slipstreaming Makoto Tamada and he saw a wall of people. He was doing 320kph and at that speed you could kill 200 people. This is bad.”
