German MotoGP: Jorge Lorenzo takes provisional 250 pole

The man who has dominated the 250 MotoGP championship so far this season continued his run of form at the Schsenring by taking provisional pole for Sunday’s race. 

Jorge Lorenzo fought off Gilera rider Marco Simoncelli to record the best time in the first of two qualifying sessions in Germany. The Aprilia rider’s best time of the session was a 1:24.857 which he managed to post half way through the session.

Marco Simoncelli’s best time was a 1:24.928 while Alex De Angelis was just behind with a 1:25.003.

The front row at the moment is completed by Aprilia’s Hector Barbera, who was fastest in free practice this morning. The Spaniard managed a best time of 1:25.110.

Alvaro Bautista had a scary moment as he came off his Aprilia. The Spaniard ran back to the pits to get his spare bike so he could go back out on track.
