Wind problmes for Checa

Carlos Checa is still hoping that a new fairing will arrive for his LCR Honda 800 machine before the new MotoGP season kicks off in Qatar on March 10 to give him more protection.

The Spaniard, who rode for the Tech 3 Yamaha squad in 2006, has complained that he has been getting buffeted around on the straights with Honda’s current RC212V fairing not giving him enough protection.

He said: “On the fast tracks it would be nice so have some better aerodynamics because my head… Wow! I’m not so young anymore and I need more protection.

“My neck is quite stiff at the end of the day, and also my shoulders where the wind pushes me a lot. “I’m also working with the helmet and leathers company and with Honda for more aerodynamic help to be more comfortable and to help stabilise the bike on braking.”
