Brno MotoGP: Yamaha team member quits over Valentino Rossi tax probe

1 of 1

A member of Valentino Rossi’s Fiat Yamaha team has resigned with immediate effect as the on-going £40m tax probe into the seven-times world champion rumbles on in Brno.

A fall-out of the investigation by Italian authorities, focusing on Valentino Rossi’s dealings between 2000 and 2004, was the revelation that Fiat Yamaha team coordinator Marc Canela had been installed as CEO of Great White London at the end of May.

Great White London (GWL) is Valentino Rossi’s personal management company.

MCN understands Marc Canela resigned after a meeting with Yamaha Motor Racing Managing Director Lin Jarvis team boss and Davide Brivio in Italy on Monday.

Valentino Rossi made no public comment yesterday (Thursday) at Brno, with GWL apparently trying to cancel all of his press engagements this weekend. This includes his daily debriefs with Italian and international reporters to let Valentino Rossi concentrate on cutting Casey Stoner’s massive 44-point lead in the series.
