Brno MotoGP: GP bound Jorge Lorenzo goest fastest in 250 free practice

New Yamaha MotoGP signing Jorge Lorenzo was the fastest man in the first 250 practice this morning.

The Spaniard recorded a best lap of 2:03.283 on his Aprilia just minutes before the end of the session to knock Hector Barbera off the top spot.

Barbera had led the session early on initially setting a 2:09.623 from the pits. He was soon to beat this immediately to knock almost two seconds off this with a 2:07.743.

Jorge Lorenzo first shot to the top of the timesheets after 25 minutes with a 2:05.389 before Hector Barbera came back with a 2:04.928 before Alex De Angelis beat this within seconds with a 2:04.799.

As the times continued to fall Barbera looked like being fastest from the session with his 2:03.729. but this was only to be good enough for third in the end with Lorenzo’s last gasp attempt and Andrea Dovizioso recording a 2:03.610 on his Honda.

Britain’s Dan Linfoot was 24th fastest with a best lap of 2:09.513 while Ireland’s Euguene Laverty’s best lap was a 2:13.255 in 26th.
