F1 boss Ecclestone at Turkish GP

Formula One supremo Bernie Ecclestone made a surprise appearance in Istanbul today on the eve of the Turkish MotoGP weekend.

It is not clear why Ecclestone is in Turkey or for how long he plans to stay. But he was a casual observer in today’s pre-event press conference that was attended by seven-times world champion Valentino Rossi.

Ecclestone was desperate to see Rossi make a multi-million pound switch from MotoGP to F1 last season.

This was before the 28-year-old Italian rejected advances from Ferrari to opt to remain on two wheels with Yamaha’s official factory team.
