Upgrades at Laguna Seca

1 of 1

Improvements are underway at Laguna Seca for the MotoGP event on July 23, 2006.

Around $7 million dollars will be spent on safety and facility upgrades, including repaving the entire surface of the circuit. Turn 1 will get an additional run off area which means removing a portion of hillside and demolishing the former media centre on top of it. Additional run-off areas are to be added at turns 3, 4, 6 and 7, and a new hospitality area will be constructed.

The upgrades were planned with input from the FIM and MotoGP Rider Safety Comission.
