Wildcards for Japan GP

Test rider Naoki Matsudo and Kousuke Akiyoshi have both been confirmed as wild card entries for the Japanese Grand Prix on September 24, 2006.

Matsudo has spent the 2006 season as the test rider for Kawasaki ZR-RR MotoGP machine ridden by regular team-mates Shinya Nakano and Randy de Puniet. Matsudo has raced twice this season, in the Suzuka 300km and Suzuki 8 Hour races. His GP experience comes from eight years as a 250cc GP rider.

Suzuki will also field a wildcard in the shape of Akiyoshi, who is currently racing for Team Yoshimura on a GSX-R1000 in the All Japane Superbike championship. The 31-year-old will make his MotoGP debut on the GSV-R, having been the test rider for Rizla Suzuki throughout 2006.
