Qatar GP: Qualifying

Loris Capirossi has claimed his third pole position in a row to start the Qatar GP on Saturday, October 1, 2005.

Sete Gibernau and Colin Edwards both held provisional pole in the opening stages of the session, but Capirossi clinched the top spot with eight minutes of the session to go, before improving again with a new lap record of 1:56.917. Sete Gibernau settled for second fastest, with Valentino Rossi slipping into third.
