Qatar GP: Practice

Despite wrapping up the 2005 MotoGP championship at the previous round, Valentino Rossi is not easing off on his MotoGP rivals.

The Italian waited until the dying moments of the second practice session at Qatar to demote Spaniard Toni Elias from the top of the timesheets. His time puts two Yamaha M1s at the top of the practice times, with the only Honda in the top six belonging to Nicky Hayden in third. Ducati duo Loris Capirossi and Carlos Checa went foruth and fifth fastest, with Yamaha’s Colin edwards in sixth. Britain’s James Ellison went 18th quickest, outpacing WCM team-mate Franco Battaini by over one second, while Olivier Jacque failed tor ecord a lap time.
