Yamaha completed its three-day test in Sepang today with Valentino Rossi posting the fastest time of the test.

Rossi put in 44 laps, mostly on the 2005 version of the M1, including an endurance test of the new Michelin Tyres. Colin Edwards only came out of the garage for 13 laps, quitting early, confident that he had completed all he set out to do.

Rossi put in the fastest lap of the test at 2:02.35, bettering Edwards best lap, set yesterday, by 0.06 seconds.

The team has now put its bikes away until after the winter test ban when it will return to the Malaysian circuit.

Suzuki who were also at the test session will join Kawasaki at the Paul Ricard test track in the south of France next week to give their Bridgestone tyres a full workout.

Yamaha team boss, Davide Brivio, said “It has been a fantastic season for all those involved in the project, and everyone has worked very hard to make it a success. Now I hope that they all enjoy a very relaxing holiday, before we arrive back here in January to continue the hard work.”

Unofficial times:

Valentino Rossi 2:02.35 (44 laps)

Colin Edwards 2:04.31 (13 laps)
