Battaini to join WCM

Experienced Italian Franco Battaini is about to sign to join the WCM team for 2005.

Battaini hopes to put the final stamp on negotiations by the end of the week. The 32-year-old has spent eight years in 250cc GPs and is looking forward to joining British team-mate James Ellsion on the new Blata V6 machines. He finished 10th in the 2004 250cc championship on the Campetella racing Aprilia, but will have to wait until the end of January to try the machine for the first time.
