Japanese engineering firm Moriwaki has confirmed its entry as a wildcard for the Pacific GP at Motegi, Japan.

The MD211F bike is based around the Honda V5 MotoGP engine and will be ridden by Moriwaki test rider Tamaki Serizawa. This will be its second outing in GPs, after a successful debut at Suzuka in April 2003, with Serizawa finishing the race in 19th. The aim is for the team to secure a full-time entry for the prototype bike in 2004.

” There is a still a lot of development to be done before it is ready, ” said team director Mamoru Moriwaki. ” We will keep trying to solve the problems before the Pacific GP and accomplish our goals. We want to appear in the 2004 series. ”

The Pacific GP at Motegi takes place on October 5, and motorcyclenews.com will bring you news and results from the event throughout the weekend.
