Max Biaggi signs for Honda
Max Biaggi has just inked a three year deal to ride a Honda RCV V5-engined bike in MotoGP.
Biaggi said: ” I was dreaming to race with Honda again and Pramac made my dream come true. ”
” I have visited the Pramac factory and I have not got the slightest doubt about my choice. ”
A Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) statement said: ” We have reached an important agreement with Honda and HRC for the multiple world champion Max Biaggi to race in our colours for the next three years.
” Our team leaders have aimed for the top rider available on the market ”
He has signed with Pramac Honda, currently fielding the two-stroke challenge of Tetsuya Harada, but the details of the deal are yet to be thrashed out.
For example, Pramac Honda doesn’t currently have a guaranteed slot on the grid next year and may come to an agreement with Tech 3 or Antenna 3 to share a team franchise.
Whether Harada will feature in the new team after a mediocre performance this season is also unclear.
And no-one knows yet who will supply the chassis for Biaggi’s bike – Moriwaki or Honda HRC.
We’ll have more details on this story as we get it…
